Military Experience:
Mr. Rios served in the U.S. Navy as a Special Boat Team Crewman (Maritime Special Operations) and in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Tactical Intelligence Officer. He is a veteran of the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
Mr. Rios also completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Masters of Art degree in Criminal Justice Management. Mr. Rios is married with 3 children and is also fluent in Spanish.

Il Nam Yang
Master Il Nam Yang began training in Tae Kwon Do in 1978.
While training, he entered numerous tournaments, individually and as a member of the competition team and won recognition as regional sparring champion while continuing his education through the Kukkiwon.
Earned certifications as international referee, international judge, and international instructor. Along with training in Tae Kwon Do, he practiced Judo and Daehan Gumdo.
Honorably served in the ROK army and again, and was a Tae Kwon Do instructor during his service.
In 1992, Master Yang came to the United States and continued instructing Tae Kwon Do to children and adults in the upstate New York area. All while continuing to train and currently holds the rank 8th degree black belt through the Kukkiwon.
Master Yang trains in Haidong Gumdo, Krav Maga, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is a 5th degree black belt through the World Haidong Gumdo Federation and is appointed Vice Chairman of the Pan American Mulimpia Committee.
In 2017, Master Yang earned his black belt in Krav Maga and under the mentorship of Professor David Adiv, he currently holds a blue belt in Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Recently (2018) he completed training as a Module 3 instructor of the Patriot Knife System.
He is the owner and operator of Master Yang’s Martial Arts Center in Latham, New York. The academy offers programs in Tae Kwon Do, Haidong Gumdo, and Krav Maga. This includes instructional training for law enforcement personnel from the local and metropolitan area through his LE certifications in Krav Maga. His martial arts center also offers an extensive children’s program which includes camps, after school care, demonstration teams, and competition teams (which have won international accolades). He lives in upstate New York with his wife, daughter, and three sons.

Bob Zacharias
1975- Started training in Tae Kwon Do and Judo
1981- Earned first degree Tae Kwon Do
1981- Began instructing Tae Kwon Do
and practical self-defense for Jacksonville Karate Academy (JKA)
1981-1986- Began full contact kick boxing
1983-Became a certified instructor in Tae kwon do
1984-Team member for JKA with the job of incorporating practical self defense into the organization's curriculum
1986- Entered the US Army. Stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC as a Combat Medic
1988- Trained military personnel on more practical application of hand to hand combat
1990-91- Worked for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office as a part of the Internal security for the Duval County Courthouse, Jacksonville, Florida
1991- Recalled to Active Duty for Desert Shield and Desert Storm with the US Army
1992- Earned Third Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
1992-94- Chief Martial Arts Instructor for the Jacksonville Karate Academy that implemented training for single stick, double stick, knife, bo-staff, kickboxing, and ground fighting techniques for certified instructors and trainee instructors
1994- Opened ZUMAS Martial Arts Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia
1995- Earned Fourth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
2000- Earned Fifth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
2005- Earned Sixth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
2009- Implemented Defensive Tactics System (DTS) within ZUMAS Martial Arts Academy
2011- Earned Seventh Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
2011- Started training in Krav Maga, Created and implemented the Active Shooter First Responder Course within ZUMAS Martial Arts Academy
